1 General Terms
1.1 Parties and Scope of these General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
These GTC of indextor Consulting GmbH, operating under the name find-your-campervan.com (hereinafter referred to as “find-your-campervan.com”), together with the specific rental agreements individually agreed during the booking process with the respective providers of campervans (hereinafter referred to as “rental partners”), form the contractual basis for the legal relationship established through the use of the platform between find-your-campervan.com and the users (hereinafter referred to as “customers”). These GTC exclusively govern the mediation service provided by find-your-campervan.com between the customer and the respective rental partner of campervans and motorhomes, i.e., the provision of the platform for the initiation and processing of rental agreements.
The specific rental agreement between the customer and the rental partner is subject to the rental partner’s applicable rental agreements, which include, among other things, vehicle pick-up, payment processing, security deposit, cancellation policies, and vehicle return. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these GTC and the rental partner’s specific rental agreements, the latter shall prevail with respect to the specific rental agreement.
1.2 Mediation Services and Rental Agreements
find-your-campervan.com operates a digital comparison and booking platform, allowing customers to compare rental vehicles from selected commercial rental partners and to submit binding booking requests through a standardized booking process. The platform assists customers in searching for available vehicles based on their criteria and displays the relevant rental conditions, equipment details, and pricing. The prices offered are based on the individual agreements between find-your-campervan.com and the rental partners.
find-your-campervan.com does not operate its own fleet, does not act as a rental company, and shall at no time become a contracting party to the rental agreement between the customer and the rental partner. The rental agreement is concluded exclusively between the customer and the selected rental partner.
find-your-campervan.com solely acts as a technical intermediary. Its services are limited to the electronic provision and transmission of offers, booking details, and communication data between the parties.
Legally binding declarations, contractual amendments, cancellations, complaints, or any other communication concerning the intended or concluded rental agreement must be handled exclusively between the customer and the rental partner. The same applies to disputes, warranty claims, or legal proceedings arising from the rental relationship.
1.3 Target Group
The platform is intended exclusively for private end customers. Commercial use is excluded unless expressly approved in writing.
1.4 Rental Partners and Market Coverage
The vehicles are provided by external rental partners, which are explicitly named during the booking process. The rental agreements of these providers are binding. The range of offers available on the platform is based on a selection of qualified partner companies and does not represent complete market coverage.
2 Booking Process and Rental Agreement
2.1 Offer Process and Booking Confirmation
find-your-campervan.com initially provides the customer with a general overview of vehicles that may theoretically be available based on the selected region and desired travel period. After registration, a best-price search is carried out for the vehicle chosen by the customer as well as for comparable alternatives. Once the results are available, the customer gains access to the individually determined price offers via their personal login.
The customer can then submit a binding offer to conclude a rental agreement with the respective rental partner by completing the booking process. This offer is deemed submitted once the customer activates the “Book Now” button at the end of the booking process. At this point, the offer is transmitted by find-your-campervan.com to the rental partner.
The rental partner reserves the right to reject the offer without providing reasons, in particular due to lack of availability. The same applies to find-your-campervan.com.
A binding contract is only concluded if the customer receives a booking confirmation by email and a rental voucher within three business days after submitting the booking request. If no response is received within this period, the offer is deemed rejected, and the request void.
The customer is obliged to provide complete and truthful information during the booking process. Incomplete or incorrect information may result in the rejection of the booking or a subsequent cancellation.
2.2 Purpose of Registration
Registration on the platform is required to access individual offers and complete a booking after the best-price search has been carried out by find-your-campervan.com. In the secure customer area, all booking-related information and documents will be provided. Communication takes place primarily via this area and email.
2.3 Offers and Offer Validity
All offers displayed on find-your-campervan.com are based on availability and pricing information transmitted at the time of the best-price search. This information is time-specific and not continuously or in real time updated. Due to dynamic pricing, limited contingents, or short-term changes by rental partners, the displayed price may no longer be valid at the time of a later booking attempt.
Before finalizing the booking, find-your-campervan.com performs a renewed availability and price check with the respective rental partner. If the originally displayed offer is no longer available at the indicated price, the booking cannot be processed at that price. The customer has no entitlement to conclude a rental agreement at the initially displayed price in such a case.
2.4 Pre-Contractual Relationship, Voucher and final Rental Agreement
Upon receipt of the final booking confirmation, including the rental voucher, a pre-contractual relationship arises between the customer and the respective rental partner. This relationship relates to the details specified in the booking, including:
• vehicle category
• type of transmission
• number of sleeping berths
• permissible weight class
• pick-up and return dates
The customer is entitled to conclude a binding rental agreement with the rental partner under these conditions. The pre-contractual relationship does not entitle the customer to a specific vehicle model, only to a vehicle within the booked category. A claim to a specific vehicle model exists only if explicitly requested in writing by the customer and clearly confirmed by the rental partner in writing, including the exact model name.
Presentation of the rental voucher is mandatory for vehicle handover by the rental partner. The final, binding rental agreement is concluded exclusively between the customer and the rental partner and only upon vehicle handover at the agreed location. The final rental agreement, as signed on-site, governs the rental relationship exclusively.
find-your-campervan.com is not a contracting party to this agreement. While the platform strives to keep the rental partners’ rental agreements updated, no guarantee is given for their completeness or accuracy. Only the contractual documents signed on-site between the customer and the rental partner are legally binding.
2.5 Rental Period and Adjustments
Changes to the rental period prior to vehicle pick-up must be coordinated exclusively with find-your-campervan.com. Changes to the rental period after vehicle pick-up must be agreed exclusively with the respective rental partner.
The customer is only entitled to use the vehicle within the contractually agreed rental period. A late return may result in additional costs charged by the rental partner. The rental agreement is not automatically extended by a late return. Insurance coverage and any contractual liability limitations expire upon the end of the agreed rental period. Use beyond this period is at the renter’s own risk and outside the agreed terms. Returning the vehicle before the agreed end date does not entitle the customer to a refund for unused rental days, regardless of the reason for early return, unless the cause is demonstrably attributable to the rental partner. If a reduction of the reservation is approved and the total rental price decreases, this does not affect the amount of any deposit already paid. Partial refunds of deposits are excluded.
2.6 Rebookings and Change Requests
Unless explicitly regulated in the rental partner’s rental agreements, rebookings are at the sole discretion of the rental partner. find-your-campervan.com does not guarantee the possibility of rebooking but will contact the rental partner on behalf of the customer to review and, if possible, arrange for a change.
2.7 Right of Withdrawal
There is no statutory right of withdrawal for vehicle rental bookings made via the platform, as these are time-specific leisure services concluded for a fixed period. Cancellations are therefore only possible in accordance with the rental partner’s cancellation policy.
3 Prices, Payment and Payment Processing
3.1 Displayed “from Prices” prior to Registration
The “from prices” displayed on our platform are non-binding and based on the lowest available rates at the time of the request. These prices depend on various factors, including the selected travel period, rental duration, pick-up and drop-off locations, current availability, lead time of the booking, as well as individually agreed conditions with the respective rental partners. The final bookable total price will only be displayed after a binding availability check with the rental partner, based on the travel data entered by the customer.
3.2 Local Currencies and Currency Conversion
The rental partner generally provides find-your-campervan.com with prices in its respective local currency. This local currency is exclusively binding and forms the contractual basis. Prices displayed in your preferred currency are converted from the local currency of the rental destination based on the exchange rate applicable at the time of booking, as determined from publicly available sources. Any payments made after the day of the booking date will be reconverted by your bank or payment provider at the exchange rate valid on the date of the next payment. As exchange rates may fluctuate, the final amount charged may differ from the price shown at the day of the booking and the first payment. By completing a booking, you acknowledge and accept that such exchange rate fluctuations may cause variations in the final amount payable.
Any fees charged by banks or payment service providers—particularly for currency conversion or international transactions – are borne solely by the customer. Neither find-your-campervan.com nor the rental partner will reimburse such costs.
3.3 Price Transparency and Exclusions
The final rental price for the selected vehicle will be displayed in full at the end of the booking process, including a transparent breakdown of the total price, the deposit, and any remaining balance due (if not payable in full immediately).
The rental price does not include the following expenses, which must be borne by the customer independently:
• fuel costs
• fines and traffic violations
• parking fees
• entrance or event tickets
• fees for camping or parking sites
Depending on the provider, additional tolls or road-use fees may apply. Whether these apply can be found in the specific rental partner’s rental agreements.
3.4 Binding Nature of Prices and Price Changes
As rental partners use dynamic pricing structures, repeated or delayed booking inquiries may lead to price variations. find-your-campervan.com has no influence over the pricing policy oft he rental partners. Once a rental agreement has been concluded based on a specific offer, the agreed price in the local currency is binding. Subsequent price adjustments – including in the event of later, lower-priced offers – are excluded.
3.5 Best Price Guarantee
find-your-campervan.com offers customers a best price guarantee for rental offers mediated through the platform. If the customer finds a cheaper offer for the identical vehicle model, during the same travel period, and under comparable conditions (e.g., equipment, mileage allowance, insurance coverage) from another provider, this can be submitted to find-your-campervan.com. find-your-campervan.com will review the offer and endeavour to provide a better price, provided all conditions match.
The external comparison offer must be submitted before completing a booking via find-your-campervan.com. No entitlement to price matching or underbidding exists once a binding booking confirmation, including the rental voucher, has been issued.
The competitor’s offer must be provided in written form, up-to-date, and verifiable (e.g., via screenshot or PDF showing price, rental period, vehicle model, and service details). The best price guarantee does not apply to subsequently identified price differences, private special conditions, individual discount promotions, group or corporate rates, or offers within closed user groups or loyalty programmes.
3.6 Payment Terms and Payment Processing
To secure a binding reservation, a bookind deposit on the total rental price must be made to find-your-campervan.com. By completing the booking, the customer authorizes find-your-campervan.com to debit the respective amount using the selected payment method.
The booking is only confirmed once payment has been successfully processed. The remaining rental balance must either be paid directly to the rental partner or to find-your-campervan.com, which will forward the payment to the rental partner. Some providers require full payment no later than 35, 14, or 7 days prior to the start of the trip; others allow payment of the remaining balance upon vehicle handover. Customers will be informed of the relevant payment deadline during the booking process.
The booking deposit can be securely made at the end of the booking process with the selected payment method of the customer. The specific terms for paying the remaining balance depend on the rental partner and are individually stated in the booking details.
If “invoice” is chosen as the payment method, the renter will receive an invoice from the rental partner with a specific payment deadline after the booking has been confirmed. If payment is not received on time, the rental partner reserves the right to cancel the booking.
If the booking is made shortly before the start of the rental period, payment by invoice may no longer be possible.
3.7 Security Deposit
A security deposit must be provided on-site upon vehicle collection to secure against possible damages, traffic violations, or breaches of contract—unless the deposit has been reduced to zero through additional insurance.
The security deposit is usually payable by credit card. Some providers accept debit cards, but prepaid cards or cash are generally not accepted. It is the customer’s responsibility to present a valid credit card in their name with sufficient funds.
The amount of the security deposit is determined by the rental partner and communicated transparently during the booking process and in the rental agreements of the rental partners.
In the event of damage caused and reported by the customer, the rental partner may:
• obtain a cost estimate and deduct or charge the corresponding amount from the security deposit, and
• withhold the entire security deposit until the final damage amount has been determined.
The customer’s credit card may be charged up to the amount of the agreed excess in case of damage. By signing the rental agreement, the customer expressly authorizes the rental partner to charge the provided credit card in connection with any damage caused, contractual breaches, or failure to return the vehicle in the agreed condition.
The refund or release of the security deposit will occur after proper return of the vehicle, provided that no justified claims are made by the rental partner.
4 Services and Additional Options
4.1 Additional Services During Booking
At the end of the booking process, customers may add optional extras (e.g., accessories or services). These services are not included in the regular rental price and are not considered part of the primary service. The contractual relationship for these additional services exists exclusively between the customer and the respective rental partner.
At the request of certain rental partners, additional services may form part of the contractual relationship between find-your-campervan.com and the customer and will be invoiced in advance through find-your-campervan.com. In such cases, these services will be clearly identified during the booking process and itemised on the invoice. For other providers, additional services can only be booked during the online check-in or directly on-site with the rental partner and are payable there.
4.2 Additional Services On-Site
Any additional services booked by the customer directly with the rental partner at vehicle pick-up are not part of the original booking through find-your-campervan.com. Such services are exclusively subject to the rental partner’s rental agreements, and no contractual claims may be asserted against find-your-campervan.com in this respect.
4.3 Non-Binding Vehicle Information and Disclaimer
find-your-campervan.com provides information about rental vehicles and the rental conditions of its partners on the platform, including vehicle descriptions, equipment details, photos, rental terms, and other relevant details. All information serves general guidance only and is based on details provided by the rental partners. No regular verification of the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information is conducted by find-your-campervan.com. While we endeavour to present the information as accurately and up-to-date as possible, we accept no liability for its accuracy or availability.
The vehicles displayed on the platform generally correspond to the booked vehicle category or designated model. However, for providers with large fleets within a single category, variations may occur, especially because vehicles may have been acquired at different times. Minor differences in brand, layout, equipment, dimensions, or construction type within the same category are therefore possible.
The booked vehicle category, as well as the guaranteed functionality and capacity – especially the number of seats and sleeping berths – are ensured in all cases. Minor deviations that do not impair the agreed functionality or capacity do not constitute a defect and do not entitle the customer to a price reduction, withdrawal, or compensation. The rental partner is solely responsible for the content, services, and contractual conditions. Neither find-your-campervan.com nor the rental partner shall be liable for minor discrepancies between the description and the actual vehicle, provided there is no significant deviation from the agreed scope of use.
5 Rental Conditions and performance of the Rental Agreement
5.1 Rights and Obligations
The customer must assert all rights, claims, or objections arising from the rental relationship – including complaints regarding defects, delays, non-provision, or other service failures – directly against the rental partner. This applies to both pre-contractual agreements and the binding rental agreement.
find-your-campervan.com assumes no responsibility for the availability, quality, condition, equipment, or other characteristics of the rented vehicle, nor for the performance of contractual obligations by the rental partner. The platform has no influence over the content of rental agreements or their execution on-site.
It is the customer’s responsibility to check all booking information for accuracy and completeness before concluding the contract and to contact the rental partner directly in case of any uncertainties.
5.2 Minimum Age and Driver’s Licence
The minimum age required to rent a vehicle may vary depending on the rental partner. The applicable minimum age is specified in the provider’s rental conditions and will be communicated to the customer before the booking is finalized. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements. Rental is only possible if the minimum age is reached at the time of vehicle pick-up. This applies to all registered drivers. The customer bears sole responsibility for ensuring that all drivers listed in the rental agreement meet the respective rental partner’s requirements for operating the vehicle. find-your-campervan.com accepts no liability for any violations of these requirements. Failure to meet them may result in cancellation of the booking, refusal of vehicle handover, or claims for damages by the rental partner.
5.3 Driver Information in the Rental Agreement
All persons who will operate the vehicle must be listed in the on-site rental agreement. Insurance coverage is void if persons not listed in the agreement drive the vehicle.
5.4 Vehicle Acceptance and Return
The customer is obliged to carefully inspect the vehicle for damage or defects before commencing travel. This includes:
• the external and internal condition of the vehicle,
• the completeness of included accessories (e.g., cables, camping equipment, navigation devices), and
• any additionally booked services (e.g., child seats, bike racks, mobile Wi-Fi).
Existing damage documented by the rental partner will be recorded in the handover report, which will be presented to the customer. By signing at vehicle collection, the customer confirms receipt of the vehicle in the documented and contractually agreed condition.
Additional damage or deviations discovered during handover and not recorded in the report must be immediately reported in writing before departure and, where possible, documented with photos. This report must be made directly to the rental partner, not to find-your-campervan.com.
Failure to report such damage may result in later complaints being rejected and the renter being held liable. At the end of the rental period, the vehicle must be returned in the condition documented at handover, allowing for normal wear and tear. Unless otherwise agreed in the rental conditions, the vehicle must be returned with a full fuel tank. A return report will also be created, to be signed by the customer. This report documents the condition of the vehicle upon return and serves as the basis for potential claims, such as new damages, missing accessories, or insufficient refuelling. Returning the vehicle with unreported damage or in a non-contractual condition may lead to additional charges or retention of the security deposit by the rental partner.
5.5 Behaviour in Case of Accidents, Defects, or Damage
In the event of an accident, damage, or technical defect, the rental partner’s rental agreements apply primarily. All damages, defects, or malfunctions – regardless of whether they occur while driving, parked, or stationary – must be reported immediately and directly to the rental partner. Failure to report, or late reporting, may result in the partial or complete forfeiture of the renter’s rights and claims, such as insurance coverage, roadside assistance, replacement vehicle service, or refunds. In addition to reporting to the rental partner, find-your-campervan.com must also be informed of the incident, especially in cases of accidents, significant damage, or disputes. Only if we are informed in a timely and complete manner we can mediate in disputes and help resolve the issue. find-your-campervan.com is not involved in claims handling but may provide advisory or mediation support if properly informed.
5.6 Pick-up and Return Times
The renter is responsible for independently checking the applicable pick-up and return times of the selected rental partner. Different opening or service hours may apply, especially on weekends and public holidays. find-your-campervan.com assumes no liability for the accuracy of the opening hours displayed on the platform. These may change and are solely the responsibility of the respective providers.
5.7 Travelling with Pets
Bringing pets in the rental vehicle is only permitted with the express consent of the respective rental partner. Whether and under what conditions pets may be taken is determined by the rental partner’s individual terms. Bringing pets may incur additional costs. Many providers charge special cleaning fees (e.g., for pet hair removal or odour elimination), which vary by provider. Without prior consent, bringing pets is not permitted. Violations may result in additional cleaning charges, refusal of the vehicle to subsequent customers, and possible contractual consequences.
5.8 Cancellations and Deadlines
The cancellation and refund conditions of the respective rental partner apply to all bookings. In case of cancellation by the customer, only a percentage of the total rental amount, as defined by the rental partner’s terms, will typically be refunded. The remaining portion will be withheld by the rental partner as a cancellation fee.
Customers are advised to consider taking out travel cancellation insurance. The relevant time for cancellation is solely when it is received by the rental partner. Notification to find-your-campervan.com is not legally sufficient. Upon receiving a written cancellation, find-your-campervan.com will forward it to the rental partner within 48 hours. In the event of a customer’s withdrawal, find-your-campervan.com is entitled to charge a cancellation fee equal to the amount of the initial payment (booking deposit).
5.9 Entry Requirements
The customer is solely responsible for obtaining and ensuring the validity of all required travel documents and driving permits, such as visas, passports, international driving licences, or other necessary documents in the respective country of rental.
find-your-campervan.com is not liable if vehicle collection or entry is denied due to missing or invalid documents.
6 Liability and Insurance
6.1 Liability
The customers liability for damage to the vehicle is limited to the amount of the contractually agreed excess, as specified in the respective rental partner’s rental agreements. This limitation of liability does not apply if the damage was caused intentionally or by gross negligence. In particular, in cases of willful damage, violations of statutory regulations, or breach of contractual obligations, the customer is fully liable without limitation by the agreed excess.
The same applies if the damage results from use not covered by the rental agreement or expressly prohibited (e.g., driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, off-road driving without authorization, or allowing non-registered drivers to operate the vehicle).
6.2 Insurance
find-your-campervan.com itself does not provide insurance services. A basic or standard insurance is included in the rental price of every rental partner by default. The specific insurance conditions, coverage amounts, and excess levels are set out in the respective rental contracts and general terms and conditions of the rental partners.
Additionally, customers have the option to purchase an optional supplementary insurance from an external third-party provider during the booking process via find-your-campervan.com. This third-party provider will be clearly identified during the booking process. In such cases, only the insurance terms and conditions of the respective third-party provider apply.
7 Data Protection, Data Security and Copyright
7.1 Data Protection and Right of Revocation
The protection of the customer’s personal data is of great importance to find-your-campervan.com. The processing of such data is carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations.
7.2. Collection and Use of Personal Data
During the booking process, we collect only the personal data necessary to complete the campervan booking. This includes:
• first name
• last name
• telephone number
• address
• email address
• date of birth
• credit card details
This data will be forwarded exclusively to the respective rental partner for the purpose of processing the booking. Any further use or transfer to third parties does not take place.
7.3. Data Security
The transmission of the customer’s data is encrypted using at least a 128-bit SSL connection to protect it against unauthorized access. Our systems comply with the latest state-of-the-art security standards.
7.4. Information, Rectification, and Revocation
The customer has the right at any time to request information about the personal data stored with us, as well as to request rectification, restriction of processing, or complete deletion, provided there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary. Requests for information or revocation must be submitted in writing to:
