Why are some vehicles marked as “on request” and not immediately available?
Vehicles marked as “available” can be booked with immediate confirmation. Those listed as “on request” require us to personally check availability with the rental company, as these vehicles are not part of the instantly bookable inventory. We usually receive a response—either a confirmation or a cancellation—within 24 hours after placing the request on your behalf.
What driver’s license do I need as a European citizen to rent a campervan or motorhome in Australia or New Zealand?
Australia:
European drivers can generally rent a campervan or motorhome in Australia with their national driver’s license, as long as it is written in English and clearly shows the license class and validity dates. If your license is not in English, you will need to carry either an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official certified translation in addition to your original license.
New Zealand:
In New Zealand, the rules are similar. European travelers can use their national driver’s license for up to 12 months from the date of entry, provided it is in English and shows the necessary details. If the license is in a different language, an International Driving Permit (IDP) or a certified translation is required alongside the original license.

Are all miles included, or is there a limit?
Mileage policies vary depending on the rental company. You’ll see the exact terms during the booking process. Many providers include a certain number of free miles, and most also offer optional mileage packages if you plan to travel longer distances. Some rental companies even offer unlimited mileage right from the start.
Can I cancel or modify my campervan reservation?
This depends on the policies of the rental company. In general, cancellations and modifications are possible, although they may be subject to additional fees. All relevant details are clearly outlined in the rental company’s terms and conditions, which you can review during the booking process.
What documents do I need to bring when picking up the vehicle?
Typically, you’ll need to bring your booking confirmation, a valid credit card for the security deposit, personal identification (such as an ID card or passport), and your driver’s license. All required documents are also listed in your booking confirmation for easy reference.
Can I take my pet with me in the campervan?
Whether pets are allowed depends on the rental company. During the booking process, you’ll find this information when selecting a campervan or motorhome. It’s also clearly stated in the rental terms and conditions. In most cases, bringing pets is possible, but an additional cleaning fee may apply.
